I am a Labour Doula but I have a very healthy respect for the hospital and I am, to be honest, a little frustrated with a lot of the fear mongering that comes from the birth community. I had a perfect hospital birth with my son! I appreciate this blog immensely so I can direct my doula clients who are afraid of the hospital to a place that actually has positive things to say. Thank you :)Caitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18091837177734334052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-79622937695124812102013-11-16T03:04:59.223-08:002013-11-16T03:04:59.223-08:00Congratulations! I'm not really in favour of home birth (again, free choice, but I would never choose it for myself), but after the treatment I received at the hospital where I gave birth, I can see why some women are attracted to home birth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-34950798393905893732013-03-26T15:55:04.428-07:002013-03-26T15:55:04.428-07:00Anonymous, you don't know her situation or her...Anonymous, you don't know her situation or her child's. Don't get me wrong: I'm not against women choosing to formula feed, and I oppose measures like locking up formula tins from new mothers as I hear is happening in New York City. However, I think women who CHOOSE to breastfeed should have that choice respected. I too was conned into giving formula to my daughter at the hospital. She lost weight after birth - but DUH, I was pumped full of fluid, and my legs looked like the Elephant Man's after I gave birth, so naturally she weighed more than she usually would and so she lost more weight. If I ever have other children, I'll be sure to go to a baby-friendly hospital.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-31107006365163176962013-03-25T08:51:34.620-07:002013-03-25T08:51:34.620-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.gynecologist phoenix azhttp://momdocwomenforwomen.com/home/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-41630595164908046442013-02-25T15:26:44.740-08:002013-02-25T15:26:44.740-08:00Things can go wrong very quickly in labor. I have seen doctors, nurses, and yes, home birth midwives be downright abusive toward laboring moms. There is just no excuse and it boils my blood. That epidural actually helped me progress, and my daughter's birth was a beautiful experience. Nothing was done without my consent; I was free to ask questions and they didn't make me feel stupid for asking; and I got to hold my daughter skin-to-skin as soon as she was born. I have nothing bad to say about my hospital experience--true, I wish it hadn't been necessary to induce, but life happens and you've just got to do the best you can.Laura A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02281382584845664329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-20956774440471360522012-11-08T20:43:42.026-08:002012-11-08T20:43:42.026-08:00Also, it's really crappy rhyming and even wors...Also, it's really crappy rhyming and even worse rhythm.Becki Robinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00297315758886641877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3075139965846118064.post-62714156851232589852012-10-17T21:15:47.234-07:002012-10-17T21:15:47.234-07:00That dance was one of the cutest things I have eve...That dance was one of the cutest things I have ever seen!!
